The Cleveland Cavaliers extended their remarkable winning streak on Wednesday, turning around a 54-48 halftime deficit to secure a 114-106 victory over Philadelphia.
This win pushed their perfect record to 13-0, matching the sixth-best start in NBA history.
The achievement carries extra weight considering four of the five previous teams with similar starts advanced to the championship.
This streak also ties Cleveland’s franchise record for consecutive wins, a mark they’ve now reached three times.
Each previous instance—2009, 2010, and 2017—featured LeBron James leading the charge, making this current run even more special.
The success has veteran broadcaster Bruce Drennan questioning his early-season skepticism.
“I pray that I was wrong when I said they cannot win the East in my predictions at the beginning of the season,” Drennan admitted on his recent podcast. “I hope that holds, I hope that comes true. I pray I was wrong, certainly won’t be the first time.”

Looking ahead, the Cavaliers stand on the brink of even more historic territory.
A win in their next game would match the 14-0 starts of the 2002-03 Dallas Mavericks and 1957-58 Boston Celtics.
The 1993-94 Houston Rockets and 1948-49 Washington Capitols share the second-best mark at 15-0, while the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors hold the ultimate record with their 24-0 start en route to their 73-9 season.
That Warriors team, despite their regular-season dominance, fell short of the ultimate prize.
In a twist of fate, it was LeBron James and these same Cavaliers who claimed the championship that year, securing the franchise’s first title.
Now, as this current Cleveland squad continues their impressive run, they’re writing their own chapter in NBA history—defying expectations with each victory.
