The Cleveland Cavaliers face a significant test Wednesday night as they pursue their 13th consecutive victory against the Philadelphia 76ers, who welcome back star center Joel Embiid.
However, the Cavs might need to tackle this challenge with a depleted roster, as injury concerns loom over key players.
NBA insider Chris Fedor revealed that Jarrett Allen has been added to the injury report as questionable with a lower left leg strain.
The center’s discomfort was evident during Monday’s game against Chicago, where his movements appeared labored.
Allen’s limited fourth-quarter presence – just three minutes on the court – and his absence during crucial closing moments raised concerns, despite initial reports suggesting he was “okay” post-game.
Adding to Cleveland’s potential personnel issues, sharpshooter Sam Merrill also finds himself listed as questionable due to persistent left ankle soreness.
#Cavs Jarrett Allen, who wasn’t moving great during the game against Chicago, is QUESTIONABLE for tomorrow’s game here in Philly. He has a lower left leg strain. Sam Merrill is also QUESTIONABLE because of that continued ankle soreness.

Merrill, who has been a steady presence off the bench this season, managed 18 minutes in Monday’s Bulls matchup, maintaining his season average of 19 minutes per game.
Allen’s possible absence could prove particularly impactful, given his season averages of 13.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks.
His recent offensive output has already shown signs of decline, with just four and nine points in the last two contests.
Meanwhile, Merrill has contributed 6.8 points per game while maintaining a 36 percent success rate from three-point range on 5.0 attempts.
The timing of these potential absences is particularly challenging for Cleveland, as they prepare to face a rejuvenated 76ers squad bolstered by Embiid’s return.
The Cavaliers’ ability to maintain their winning momentum could largely depend on how they navigate these injury concerns against one of the Eastern Conference’s formidable opponents.
