For years, fans and analysts have discussed how Evan Mobley should be the Cleveland Cavaliers’ X-Factor.
He’s the key to unleashing their actual potential, and his ability to step up – or lack thereof – could make or break everything for this team.
So far, it seems like Kenny Atkinson is bringing out the best version of him.
The USC product was the best player on the court in the latest win over the Brooklyn Nets, even making history with his numbers.
As pointed out by Cavs Notes on X, he finished the game with 23 points on 10-of-11 shooting, adding 16 rebounds and four steals.
According to Elias Sports, he’s the only player in league history to record those numbers in a single game since the league officially started tracking stats in 1973-74.

Mobley has always been a force on the defensive end of the floor, and he sealed the win with a massive block in clutch time.
This season, however, his presence on offense is what has made such a significant difference.
If he can maintain this offensive and aggressive approach for the remainder of the season, the Cavs will be a very difficult team to beat.
That’s also the key to making that twin-towers frontcourt work.
Jarrett Allen isn’t known for spacing the floor, so having Mobley step up to the perimeter would be huge in keeping both of them on the court.
It may have taken him longer than expected, but Mobley is finally figuring things out.
