The Cleveland Cavaliers are rolling.
Kenny Atkinson’s team has the best record in the NBA at 8-0.
They’ve kept the same defensive identity and intensity from the J.B. Bickerstaff era but added a layer of offensive prowess and aggressiveness we haven’t seen from them.
A lot of that has had to do with Evan Mobley.
Mobley looks like a different player out there, knocking down shots with confidence and being aggressive in his drives.
When asked about his growth, Darius Garland tipped his hat to his teammate (via Spencer Davies).
“We still want more.”
Evan Mobley’s block and coast-to-coast lefty slam was another prime example of his growth as a player.

He called Mobley “a unicorn,” adding that he wasn’t surprised to see him dominate on both ends of the floor because he’s capable of that.
He also gave him credit for bulking up and being more aggressive on offense, bodying people up, and taking it to the rim.
Mobley’s scoring average has only gone up a few points, but he’s been more efficient this year.
While not a volume shooter by any means, he’s looked better and more confident from beyond the arc, shooting 40% from deep— up 15% from his career average.
The Cavaliers have been knocking on the door of playoff contention for several years, and while this is still Donovan Mitchell’s team, most people can agree that Mobley could be the X-factor and catalyst to go from good to great.
It’s still early in the season, and this team is due to lose a game at some point.
But fans have seemingly loved how they’re playing and the confidence they’re showing on both ends of the floor.
