Donovan Mitchell has been sensational this season, scoring an average of 28.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.3 assists on 47.5% from the field.
He has helped his team turn things around and climb high in the Eastern Conference standings.
Despite that, he is still not discussed when people talk about MVP candidates for the year.
Speaking with Daryl Ruiter and the media, Cavaliers head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said that Mitchell not being part of the MVP conversation is “foolish.”
Stating that Mitchell is having “the best year of his career” and has helped the team both offensively and defensively, Bickerstaff said he just can’t understand why he isn’t a possible MVP.

The race for Most Valuable Player changed a lot recently when Joel Embiid suffered his latest injury and was forced out of the running for the highly-coveted prize.
However, Mitchell’s name has never been toward the top of the list of potential winners.
No matter if he wins MVP or not, there is no denying that the Cavaliers star has had an amazing season and helped his team become much better.
The Cavaliers have suffered through multiple injuries and a tough conference.
After a bad start to the season, they have steadily climbed higher and higher in the standings and now sit as the second-best team in the East with a 35-17 record.
In the grand scheme of things, winning MVP isn’t nearly as important as winning a championship.
That is what really matters to Mitchell and the rest of the team and right now it actually feels possible.
