When the season began, many Cleveland Cavaliers fans were concerned because the team wasn’t able to create a contract extension with Donovan Mitchell.
A few months later, there were a lot of rumors about Mitchell leaving the team before the season is done.
Now, it seems like he is going to stick around.
Michael Scotto is reporting, per Legion Hoops, that the Cavaliers are telling other teams that Mitchell is “not for sale.”

The Cavaliers had a tough start to the season and this increased the chatter about Mitchell possibly departing for another team.
When Evan Mobley and Darius Garland were injured several weeks ago, talk about Mitchell leaving skyrocketed because most people thought the team’s chances of reaching the playoffs had dwindled.
They foresaw a future with the Cavaliers collapsing and then Mitchell taking off for a team with better chances.
However, that future didn’t pan out as expected and the Cavaliers were able to play very well without Mobley and Garland.
They are now the fourth seed in the East with a 26-16 record.
As for Mitchell, he is posting 27.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.2 assists so far this season, shooting 46% from the field and 34.2% from the three-point line.
Mitchell seems to be happy in Cleveland and he believes in his team and what they are capable of.
That gives the team’s front office plenty of reasons to hang on to him.
However, that doesn’t mean the team won’t make some other changes and fans shouldn’t be shocked if several stars leave the roster before the upcoming trade deadline.
