The Cleveland Cavaliers and the rest of the NBA said goodbye to Ricky Rubio this week, who retired from the league after a 12-year career.
Many players have been saluting the point guard, including those with the Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, and beyond.
Dwight Howard, who parted ways with the NBA several seasons ago, sent a message to Rubio on Twitter.
“Congrats to Ricky & Goran on amazing careers 💪🏾 if ya ever miss the game come on over overseas,” Howard said, saluting both Rubio and Goran Dragić, who also retired this week.

This was a nice shout-out to Rubio, who never played with Howard but faced off against him many times during their years together in the league.
It’s not surprising to see Howard invite Rubio to play overseas, as he has done this multiple times with many NBA players.
Howard never misses an opportunity to tell players how much fun they could have if they were playing in foreign markets.
The eight-time All-Star recently signed a new deal to play for Philippine Strong Group in the Dubai International Tournament later this month.
Over the last few years, he has spent his time balling in Taiwan.
Although Howard put the invite out there, it’s unlikely that Rubio will take him up on that offer.
The former Cavaliers player is spending time working on his mental health and taking care of himself.
If he does decide to return to professional basketball, it’ll reportedly be in his home country of Spain.
So while Howard can offer Rubio a place to play, he most definitely won’t accept it.
