The Cleveland Cavaliers were hoping to deepen their roster over the summer and the addition of Max Strus did exactly that.
Strus immediately became a part of Cleveland’s starting five and fits in perfectly with the team.
Tony Pesta celebrated Strus on Twitter, saying that he has been “fantastic for the Cavs even with his streaky shooting.”
He said that Strus has “added vital playmaking and spacing to the starting lineup.”
Perhaps more importantly, Strus is “on par or better than other players making $14 million a year.”

Strus has improved his game in multiple ways in 2023-24.
He is now shooting 13.8 points per game, compared to 11.5 last season.
He is also landing 5.1 rebounds per game, higher than his 3.2 last year.
His 39.4% field goal percentage and 33% three-point percentage also really help the team, especially because the Cavaliers acquired him for a smaller contract.
He is definitely the sort of player that the team needed but some people are unhappy with his streaky tendencies.
For example, Strus’ latest game wasn’t his best and it had some fans concerned about his output.
Against the Toronto Raptors, Strus scored only 6 points on a 28.6% field goal percentage.
However, Pesta wants fans to remember everything Strus has been doing for the team throughout the season.
The Cavaliers have had their roster decimated by injuries so the help of Strus is more important than ever before.
The team will rely on him more often and if he can work out his inconsistencies, Cavaliers fans will be even happier about Strus’ contract.
