Although the team has a lot of promise, it’s clear that the Cleveland Cavaliers could get better.
That has some people believing that the team may make trades in the near future.
Writing for The Ringer, Justin Verrier said that Donovan Mitchell could be on the trade market very soon.
If the Cavaliers are willing to put up their big star in any sort of potential package, multiple teams would be interested.
According to Dru on Twitter, the Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, and Toronto Raptors “would all have to think long and hard about acquiring him.”
He added that the Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets may also pick up the phone and try to get Mitchell, which would constitute a third of the league.

Verrier stated that Mitchell’s departure from the Cavaliers “seems like a matter of when, not if.”
He said that Cleveland made the right choice in signing Mitchell but he believes that the four-time All-Star will be heading for the exit as soon as he can.
Instead of letting that happen, the Cavaliers could be preemptive and trade him away soon in order to get a big return for him.
There is a “promising future” in Cleveland with Evan Mobley and Darius Garland, according to Verrier.
But those two need role players around them and trading Mitchell could give that to them.
For months now, there has been a lot of speculation about Mitchell’s future with the team.
Things could go either way but if the Cavaliers want to make a big move, they could be doing it soon because December 15 is when most of the players signed in the offseason are eligible to be traded.
Many NBA stars will be ready to be traded on that date, so will Cleveland make a deal?
