Following their Game 1 loss to the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell showed confidence and claimed that his team was going to bounce back. On Thursday night, he was echoing a similar sentiment.
Some fans have grown concerned that Mitchell might be nursing a minor injury, but he shot down that thought in a post-game press conference, telling everyone that things are fine.
“I’m great. I’m great. I’m great,” Mitchell said.

That’s a relief to fans, because certain people started to think something was bothering Mitchell towards the end of Game 1. He seemed to be a bit slower, perhaps in pain, and his production dropped off in the fourth quarter.
While this news about him is good and a relief to fans, it doesn’t bring the Cavaliers out of the very deep hole they are in. They are now down 2-0 to the New York Knicks, and many teams don’t climb out of that.
Mitchell is healthy, and the Cavaliers are going to need as much as they can get out of him in the days ahead. The series is moving to Cleveland for Games 3 and 4, which will help them because of the rowdy and rewarding home crowd. But they have put themselves in a very tricky situation.
The Cavaliers are facing a mighty big challenge right now, and that challenge would be made even bigger if Mitchell was injured. He swears he’s not, which is undoubtedly good news. However, it doesn’t solve all of the team’s problems as they are now just one loss away from a 3-0 hole
