The Cleveland Cavaliers entered the offseason wanting to re-sign Ty Jerome, but knew it would be difficult.
Sure enough, they couldn’t get it done.
According to Shams Charania, Jerome has agreed to a three-year, $28 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.
This puts an end to Jerome’s short but bright stint with the Cavaliers, who will miss him.

Last season, Jerome posted an average of 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists on 51.6 percent from the field and 43.9 percent from the three-point line.
He really found his footing with the Cavaliers and was viewed as a potential Sixth Man of the Year candidate.
The Cavs would have loved to keep him, but they also understood that he was going to receive a ton of interest from other teams.
He will be able to bring a lot of backcourt production for the Grizzlies, making them even deeper and giving assistance with shooting, spacing, and more.
This could be just the start of a long and exciting chapter for Jerome, but it won’t be with the Cavaliers.
Cleveland wanted to work on their depth this summer, so the loss of Jerome really hurts them.
Can they find someone who will replace his production during free agency?
If not, that is a fairly big hole they will need to fill.
The Cavaliers have a few options for the offseason, but could any of them fit in and find chemistry with the rest of the roster right away?
Jerome played well, but he got along with his teammates, too.
So, the Cavaliers are looking for someone who can shoot like him, but it’s about so much more than just that.
