The New York Knicks are still hunting for a new head coach after firing Tom Thibodeau, and the process has been complicated.
They have set their sights on several candidates, but haven’t been able to secure a replacement yet.
Speaking on “The Putback,” Ian Begley dug into the remaining possibilities for the job and mentioned a former Cleveland Cavaliers coach.
“Mike Brown is scheduled to interview with the Knicks. That’s kind of where it sits. I do think that [Taylor] Jenkins and [Mike] Brown have been the focus. I think they’re in that top tier of the Knicks’ options. [Jason] Kidd is more of a wild card because he is under contract with Dallas,” Begley said, via Knicks Video.

Brown spent six seasons leading the Cavaliers, earning a 305-187 record, bringing them to the Finals in 2006-07.
Since then, he moved on to the Los Angeles Lakers, became an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors, and then spent three seasons coaching the Sacramento Kings.
He was relieved of his duties in Sacramento at the beginning of the season and has been out of a job since.
However, Brown is the sort of respected and proven coach who will always be floated as a possibility when a new vacancy pops up.
Brown has earned multiple Coach of the Month awards and was named Coach of the Year twice, including during one of his seasons with the Cavaliers.
Now he could be on the verge of leading the Knicks, although Begley admitted that Taylor Jenkins may have a better shot.
Even if Brown doesn’t become the new coach of New York, he will likely return to the NBA soon.
