The Cleveland Cavaliers have a deep team and a strong rotation.
That means there will not always be minutes and touches for everybody.
That’s also why head coach Kenny Atkinson didn’t give Jaylon Tyson much run this season.
Hopefully, that won’t be the case in the future.
Following a second-round playoff exit, Ethan Sands of Cleveland.com broke down Tyson’s play with an interesting comparison.
While neither Martin nor Hart is an All-Star, they’re playoff-proven contributors who would be a welcome sight for any team.
Tyson showed glimpses of strong play during his rookie season and almost recorded a triple-double in the first start of his career.
Though he didn’t get that many opportunities, he made the most of the ones he got.
The Cavaliers likely won’t be able to make big moves in the offseason without a lot of wiggle room to spend.
They will have to find reinforcements from within, meaning that they will have to give their young players an extended look going forward.
Tyson should be a strong candidate to take a big step in his second year.
If his shots start falling, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him as the first guy off the bench next season.
