The Cleveland Cavaliers keep losing key members of Kenny Atkinson’s coaching staff.
The Phoenix Suns hired Jordan Ott to become their new head coach and replace Mike Budenholzer.
Now, the former Cavs’ assistant will take one of his confidants with him.
According to a report by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, DeMarre Carroll will join Ott’s staff in Phoenix.

The two share a long history together.
Ott coached Carroll when he played for the Brooklyn Nets, and they’ve been together on coaching staffs with the Los Angeles Lakers and Cavaliers.
Carroll played for eight NBA teams as a defender who could hold his ground against both forward spots and some bigs.
He entered coaching in 2022 when he joined Budenholzer’s staff with the Milwaukee Bucks.
He knew Budenholzer from his days with the Atlanta Hawks.
Carroll then joined the Lakers’ coaching staff before spending this season with the Cavs.
Ott is building his coaching staff with people he trusts and knows.
Turning things around in Phoenix won’t be easy, as the Suns have had three head coaches in as many years.
As for the Cavaliers, they’ve lost several key assistants and will have to work around the clock to find suitable replacements.
