The Cleveland Cavaliers didn’t have it easy during their series against the Indiana Pacers, but that’s just the way it goes.
That is what Evan Mobley said following his team’s disappointing exit from the playoffs on Tuesday night.
Speaking to Cleveland.com, Mobley said that injuries got in his team’s way, but that is no excuse for the end of their season.
“A good amount, but that’s just the playoffs,” Mobley said when asked how much injuries influenced the series. “Everyone gets hurt. You’ve just got to find a way to win. During games that you’re supposed to win, you’ve got to win. You go back to Game 2, you’re up 20, you gotta just finish games out. And the series just looks a lot different.”
Mobley knows a thing or two about the injuries that got Cleveland in trouble because he suffered one of them.
He had to miss time during the series, and that severely hurt his team.
He wasn’t the only one, of course, because the Cavaliers had bad luck with the injury bug again.
It was the same story during the last playoffs, although things were slightly better this year.
Ultimately, it doesn’t matter because Mobley thinks that is par for the course during the playoffs.
The Cavaliers aren’t the only team beaten up and bruised, and they need to find a way to win even if they aren’t at 100 percent.
Still, many Cavaliers fans will wonder how the team can reach its full potential if injuries keep flaring up at the worst possible time.
Will this happen again next year?
Can the Cavs find a way to win no matter how many physical problems they have?
