Tristan Thompson has been a big part of the NBA for more than ten years now and has been with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the majority of his career.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the team wished him a very happy birthday on Thursday when Thompson turned 34 years old.
After 13 years and a lot of memorable moments, Thompson has become a fixture in Cleveland and a beloved part of the franchise.

Thompson was chosen by the Cavaliers as the fourth overall pick back in the draft of 2011.
During his first season, he posted an average of 8.2 points and 6.5 rebounds and started in 25 of his 60 games.
Over the next several seasons, he did more work on the floor and his averages continually ticked up until he was posting 12.0 points and 10.1 rebounds per season in 2019-20.
Thomspon was part of the Cavaliers team when they won the Finals in 2015-16 and he averaged 6.7 points and 9.0 rebounds during that playoff run.
Of course, Thompson hasn’t only played for the Cavaliers during his 13-year career.
He has also spent time with the Boston Celtics, Sacramento Kings, Indian Pacers, and Chicago Bulls.
But after a year away from the game, Thompson came back to the Cavaliers in the 2023-24 season.
Since his return to Cleveland, he has averaged 2.6 points and 3.2 rebounds during his 9.6 minutes per game.
Thompson doesn’t play as much as he used to but he has become an important part of the team’s culture and chemistry.
A lot of fans hope to see him retire with the team when he decides to step away from the game for good.
At 34, retirement is approaching, so will Thompson hang up his jersey with the Cavaliers?
