The Cleveland Cavaliers were expected to struggle for a long time after LeBron James’ departure from the team in 2018.
However, in a matter of a few seasons, the Cavaliers found a core on which they could rely to be competitive in the NBA.
Jarrett Allen is among the players who have earned a lot of praise for his performances over the past few years.
In fact, Allen is expected to earn his second NBA All-Star selection this season.
Keeping that in mind, there is no doubt that a few teams are interested in contacting the Cavaliers to inquire about a potential trade around Jarrett Allen.
Speaking of which, as per NBA analyst Jake Weinbach via his official Twitter handle, the New Orleans Pelicans are expected to pursue the Cavs center this season.
Expect the Pelicans to consistently pursue Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen.
NOLA will be in the market for a long-term answer at the center position with Jonas Valanciunas in the final year of his contract. Allen should be the Pelicans’ primary target.

Jonas Valanciunas is currently the primary center for the New Orleans Pelicans.
However, many reports this past summer suggested that the Pelicans are open to trading the big man.
Moreover, he is currently on an expiring deal, and the Pelicans haven’t made any efforts toward renewing Valanciunas’ contract.
Keeping that in mind, the Pelicans are most likely expected to pursue Jarrett Allen to replace the veteran center.
But at the end of the day, the Cavaliers wouldn’t engage in any trade talks around Allen.
After all, Allen is averaging 14.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game for the Cavaliers this season.
On top of that, Allen seemingly has an excellent relationship with the Cavaliers.
So, there is no upside for Allen to leave the franchise right now.
