Because they have secured their spot in the upcoming playoffs, the Cleveland Cavaliers rested several of their starters on Thursday night.
That gave more time for Ty Jerome to shine brightly on the court and everyone took notice.
Before the game, Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle spoke about Jerome and praised the young star for how “resourceful” he is.
“He’s got what I call the resourceful gene as a player,” Carlisle said. “But a lot of times, a guy like him just needs to get to the exact right situation, and sometimes it’s with a team that is highly talented where his specific skills can mesh, and he can do the things that he does to enhance the team and vice versa. It’s hard not to admire a guy like that,” Carlisle said, per Serena Winters.

This was Jerome’s third start of the season and he definitely made it count.
He posted a game-high 24 points and helped the team stay competitive, even though the Cavaliers lost by two points.
Carlisle said that Jerome is the sort of star who can make an impact no matter what sort of situation he’s in.
Right now, he’s in a great situation with the Cavaliers.
This is his second season in Cleveland, and he is averaging 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.
He is the definition of a great bench player because he bolsters the second unit and keeps the team strong for all four quarters.
This isn’t his first stop in the NBA, but his time with the Cavaliers has been his most productive.
He has proven himself to the team and has become one of the most beneficial bench players around.
The fact that opposing coaches notice just how talented Jerome is says a lot about him.
