The Cleveland Cavaliers have been the best team in the Eastern Conference all season long.
A lot of that has had to do with health and the way they’ve taken care of the players’ workloads.
Notably, that invisible work isn’t always done by the coaches or even the assistants.
That’s why coach Kenny Atkinson wanted to tip his hat to his training staff and sports science guys.
When asked about them, he called them a vital part of the team, adding that they work very closely with the coaching staff to make sure to get the team where they are right now (via Full Court Cleveland):
“They’re just as important as my assistants, and I feed off them,” he said.
Gab got the chance to catch up with Kenny Atkinson and asked him about the importance of the Cavs' training staff. #LetEmKnow

Health is always a major factor, especially in the playoffs.
Sometimes, it’s not the best team that stands alone at the end; it’s the healthiest one.
Donovan Mitchell has shown some signs of slowing down, and exhaustion has been a perennial issue with him at this point in the season.
Nevertheless, other than that, the team has seemingly done an outstanding job of keeping everybody’s minutes in check.
Coach Atkinson has completely turned the team around from top to bottom and he deserves credit for the way he’s carried himself.
This team is now ready for the playoffs, and, hopefully, we won’t have to talk about injuries or anything similar there.
