The Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the teams to beat right now.
Notably, not many people expected that from them this season, especially considering how much they had failed to take a leap in the playoffs.
Some fans urged the team to move on from this core of players, and Jarrett Allen was one of the many names included.
Allen has been great for this team more often than not, but he’s also been on the wrong end of a now-infamous and viral meme.
In 2023, he admitted that the lights were a little too bright for him during the series loss to the New York Knicks in the playoffs.
It didn’t take long before the phrase went viral on social media.
However, far from being angry or sad about that, the Cavs’ big man is actually happy that it happened.
Talking on “The Old Man & The Three,” Allen admitted that he liked it (via Bleacher Report).

He admittedly didn’t even remember the question, but he knows how easily and quickly fans can write off a player after a few bad games.
Fortunately, the Cavaliers didn’t listen to all the outside noise.
They doubled down on their current core of players, and it’s most definitely paying off.
Granted, it’s hard to imagine this team winning 15 out of every 16 games they play this season; that’s just not sustainable.
Then again, with everything they’ve been through and the experience they’ve gotten, the lights might not be that bright anymore.
