The Cleveland Cavaliers have had multiple goals this season.
They want to win a championship and be the No. 1 seed in the East when the regular season comes to a close.
They are now much closer to both of those objectives.
According to Nick Camino, the Cavaliers improved their record to 62-15 on Friday night and their “Magic Number” to clinch the No. 1 seed in the East is now down to just one.
That means if they win one more game, they will enter the postseason as the best team in their conference.
What exactly does that mean for this impressive team?

Becoming the No. 1 seed assures home court advantage in every round, and that is a huge deal, especially this year.
If the playoffs started today, the Cavaliers would play against the Atlanta Hawks in the opening round.
It seems like that would be an easy challenge for the Cavaliers, but the rest of the playoffs could get trickier and more complex.
Home court advantage would give Cleveland just that: better odds to win in every single round.
There are some very difficult teams in the Eastern Conference, including the reigning champion Boston Celtics.
The Cavaliers want every edge they can get.
On top of all that, ending the season as the No. 1 seed will feel great for these Cavaliers and it’ll silence the many critics who have been betting against them all year.
Even with all of their wins, there have been some people stating that the Cavaliers weren’t the real deal and would eventually fall apart.
That isn’t happening, and now Cleveland is just one game away from ending the season like they started: as the top team in their conference.
