The Cleveland Cavaliers reached a new milestone for the season on Friday night, but it wasn’t a good one.
For the only time this year, the Cavaliers have lost four games in a row following their defeat at the hands of the Phoenix Suns.
Legion Hoops pointed out that the Cavs have been taken down by the Suns, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers, and Orlando Magic.
This isn’t regular for the Cavaliers and fans are definitely starting to get worried as the playoffs approach.
Are they still the best team in the NBA?
The Cavs have now lost 4 straight games 😳

A lot of fans online were quick to say that this marks the beginning of the end for the Cavs.
They say that the successful runs throughout the season were just a “fluke” and that Cleveland will now fall apart at the end of the season and start of the playoffs.
I always knew the start of their season was a fluke run

Others said that the Oklahoma City Thunder are “a real deal contender,” but the Cavaliers don’t have what it takes.
Four losses in a row are never good, especially for a team that was doing so well for most of the season.
This is why ain’t a soul worried about them. OKC is a real deal contender. These guys are beatable though.

However, many others haven’t lost faith in the Cavs and believe they will still triumph in the East.
Yes, they are in a rough patch right now, but that doesn’t spell certain doom.
Still first in the East by 5.5 games. Crazy a team can have a slump during a west coast trip.

It has been noted that plenty of championship teams have experienced losing streaks over the years.
This isn’t something that only the Cavaliers have struggled with.
Champs in the last 15 years:
2023 DEN lost 4 straight
2022 GSW lost 5 straight
2021 MIL lost 3 straight
2020 LAL lost 3 straight
2018 GSW lost 3 straight
2017 GSW lost 3 straight

The Cavaliers are definitely ready to turn a corner and rack up some big wins.
But even with these losses, they remain the top team in the East, at least for now.
They have a 56-14 record, while the second-seed Boston Celtics are behind them with 51-19.
