Emoni Bates impressed Cleveland Cavaliers fans again on Friday night.
Bates wasn’t playing for the Cavaliers but instead suited up for their G League affiliate team, the Cleveland Charge.
And just like he did during the Summer League, Bates played incredibly well.
He recently spoke to Jackson Flickinger of Right Down Euclid and opened up about his basketball career so far.
“Everybody’s story’s different,” Bates told Flickinger.
He went on: “I’m playing basketball at the end of the day. I get to play, go out there and do what I love. That’s all that matters to me.”

Some players might see a switch to the G League as a sort of demotion, but not Bates.
Instead, he is viewing it as a chance to get even better, perfect his approach to the game, and prepare himself for a long, promising future.
He lit up the scoreboard on Friday, posting 29 points in his G League debut.
Cavaliers fans fell in love with Bates and his energetic style of play during the Summer League and were hoping to see a lot of him during the regular season.
But he only participated in two games before moving to the G League and a timetable for his return to the regular squad is unknown.
Bates doesn’t seem bothered about moving between the Cavaliers and Charge, telling Right Down Euclid, “I know if I keep working my opportunity is gonna come.”
Bates has the sort of skill that could create a long career for himself in the NBA.
And he also obviously has the dedication, optimism, and self-belief that could help him go far with this Cavaliers team.
