The Cleveland Cavaliers needed their win on Friday night.
If they had been taken down by the Washington Wizards, everyone would be talking about how they were defeated by the worst team in the league.
But that didn’t happen and after the game, Donovan Mitchell spoke with the press, via Dylan on X, about what it takes to win every game, every single night, no matter who they are facing off against.
“You find ways. Every night is gonna be different. Tonight we did it as a collective—Kenny got on him [Evan Mobley] a little bit at halftime. We ran the first three post-ups for him. I made sure he got there. Like no, I’m not running any other play. Go there and score on him…. For him to respond in the 2nd half, be aggressive, be assertive. That’s what we need. Damn, he had 27? ….. I was underselling him, sheesh…. When he’s like that, he’s unstoppable…He’s [Max Strus] like a defensive stopper…. For the big moments, he always ready for them and that’s what he brings for us. He’s a guy who just brings a winning mentality to the group,” Mitchell said.

A true leader, Mitchell was sure to call out other players on his roster who made the win possible.
He was particularly proud of Evan Mobley and Max Strus, who contributed a lot during the game.
Mitchell said that there is a winning mentality that is in every game.
The Cavaliers have a strong sense of self-belief and have from the very start of the season, even when some people thought their winning streaks were a fluke and they would fall down in the Eastern Conference standings.
Even though they were playing against the worst squad in the NBA, there were challenges in Friday’s game.
But Mitchell and his team know how to work together and overcome them because of their chemistry and belief in what they are doing.
