The Cleveland Cavaliers arrived in the Twin Cities like a team on a mission.
They desperately needed to rebound from their toughest loss of the season, which came in their previous outing against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
To make matters worse, they would be without two of their best defenders, Isaac Okoro and Evan Mobley, who are both out with injuries.
That’s why they needed to find a little extra motivation.
Fortunately for them, a Minnesota Timberwolves fan gave them just that.
Following the win, Donovan Mitchell made sure to get back at a fan who wished them bad luck and claimed that they would do poorly against the Timberwolves (via FanDuel Sports Network Cleveland).

Mitchell jokingly said that the lady they met in the elevator helped them set the tone for the entire game.
Well, whatever works.
If that kind of thing was good enough for Michael Jordan, it might also be good enough for Mitchell and the Cavaliers.
Mitchell was particularly aggressive in the win, scoring 36 points with four three-pointers.
It was a much better effort than his eight-point performance against the Thunder.
The Cavaliers will head back home after being on the road for their last three games, and going 2-1 on a road trip isn’t bad.
They’ve been the best team in the league this season, even though they haven’t always gotten the best recognition.
Perhaps they just need someone to call them out every game so that they can perform at their best.
