The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to roll.
It wasn’t easy, but they survived a close game vs. the Brooklyn Nets, partly thanks to Darius Garland’s heroics.
Garland was crucial in the comeback, and once again, his play down the stretch was instrumental in getting the job done.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that Garland is currently one of the best players in the league when it comes to clutch scoring.
As the NBA on X pointed out, he’s currently shooting 58.7% from the field in clutch situations (the final five minutes of a game and a game that’s within five points).
That’s the best of any player in the NBA this season with at least 80 clutch points.

Garland hasn’t always been known for rising up to the occasion.
For most of his career, his detractors doubted his character, toughness, and clutch gene.
That hasn’t been the case for most of this season.
Garland put the team on his shoulders on Tuesday night, scoring 30 points with four rebounds, eight assists, four steals, and three three-pointers.
He also shot 11 of 24 from the floor and 3 of 11 from beyond the arc.
Donovan Mitchell is still the team’s leader and best player, but no one can win on his own in this league.
And if Garland continues to step up when it matters the most, it will be very difficult to take them down in a seven-game series.
