Darius Garland has become a very important, impressive part of the Cleveland Cavaliers over the last few years.
He ended his first season in Cleveland with 12.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.
Last season, he averaged 21.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 8.6 assists.
Obviously, Garland has gotten a whole lot better in a short amount of time, partly because of the influence and guidance of those around him.
A quote from Ricky Rubio that always stuck with me is how his goal and job is to make Darius Garland better than he was the season before.
Well, now he's got three more years with the #Cavs to help push Garland to his absolute apex.

One of the people rooting him on is Ricky Rubio.
Rubio was part of the team briefly but was traded away.
However, he is coming back for the new season and it has gotten fans elated because of his desire to help guide and improve Garland.
Rubio once said that he was adamant about about making Garland better – and now he has three more years to help that happen.
Does this mean that Garland is about to be producing even more than 21.7 points a game?
All-Star Talent
Garland is officially on the radar of NBA fans all over.
Because of his talent and output for the Cavs, Garland was named as an All-Star for the first time last season.
However, he can keep improving, especially with the expertise of Rubio.
Rubio has been in the league for 11 years now and while his career average (11.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 7.6) is mostly below what Garland is doing, he still has a lot of knowledge to impart.
For example, Rubio is not only great with assists, but also leading a team and being the man who others look to.
He will certain attempt to make Garland more comfortable in that sort of position in the years ahead.
Imagine what that could do for the future of the Cavs.
