The Cleveland Cavaliers are rolling right now, and Ty Jerome’s impact off the bench has had a lot to do with that.
However, basketball might be the last thing on his mind right now.
According to a report by TMZ Sports, his house in Los Angeles was burglarized last week:
“A Los Angeles home belonging to NBA player Ty Jerome was burglarized last week, and cops tell TMZ Sports they’re still on the hunt for the suspects,” read the report.
Apparently, the break-in took place on January 17 at around 7:30 pm.
Thieves broke a glass window and entered his residence.
No arrests or even suspects have been named yet, per TMZ.
Also, it’s unclear what they took from the home – if anything.
Jerome has been with the team, but the report adds that he or one of his representatives will be in touch with law enforcement soon to determine whether the perpetrators took anything from his home.
This has been an ongoing worrisome trend lately.
NFL stars Joe Burrow and Dak Prescott have also had their homes burglarized lately, and the same goes for Luka Doncic.
Police are reportedly investigating the matter further.
It will be a matter of time before celebrities and professional athletes devise a solution to this pressing issue.
Jerome has been with the Cavaliers since 2023, but he barely played in his first season with the organization.
He’s emerged as one of Kenny Atkinson’s first players off the bench.
His playmaking has allowed him to make timely shots and relieve pressure on star guards Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell.
So far, the five-year pro has averaged 10.2 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game.
