The Cleveland Cavaliers were one of the best teams in the NBA, at least record-wise.
They were dominant in the first half of the season and had multiple 10-game winning streaks.
Unfortunately, two of their few early losses came during the NBA Emirates Cup.
Now, the Cavs will try again to win the in-season tournament.
The team recently revealed its four opponents for the group stage of next season’s NBA Cup.
As shown on X, the Cavs will square off with the Atlanta Hawks, Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards.

The Cavs shouldn’t have much trouble getting past those teams.
The Wizards are projected to be bottom-feeders again, and they might look to move their veterans at some point during the season.
The Raptors have promising players, but they’re still in the midst of a rebuild.
The Pacers have had the Cavs’ number for the past couple of years, but they shouldn’t be as good now that Tyrese Haliburton will be out for the season with an Achilles injury.
The Hawks should be better, but they’re a question mark until proven otherwise.
Of course, winning the NBA Cup is largely symbolic, but it could provide the Cavs with a significant motivational boost and prepare the team for the postseason.
