The Cleveland Cavaliers have been bitten by the injury bug throughout the 2023-24 NBA season.
Darius Garland and Evan Mobley have been the two players who have been most impacted due to injuries this year.
However, the Cavaliers have prevailed even without those key players, primarily due to amazing performances by the likes of Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen.
Speaking of Allen, the veteran center could miss the Cavaliers’ upcoming game against the Detroit Pistons due to a sudden illness, as revealed via team reporter Chris Fedor on Twitter.
#Cavs center Jarrett Allen has been added to the injury report for tonight’s game against Detroit. He is listed as QUESTIONABLE with an illness.

As per Fedor’s tweet, Allen has been listed as questionable for the Cavaliers versus Pistons matchup.
While Fedor did mention that the reason behind Allen being listed as questionable is due to a sudden illness, he didn’t further elaborate.
Considering Allen has been consistently showing up for the Cavaliers this season, it’s no surprise that he could use a few games’ rest with the NBA All-Star Weekend right around the corner.
However, the Cavaliers would have preferred had Allen not come down with an unknown sickness during a crucial part of the season.
Allen is averaging 15.3 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game for the Cavaliers this season while playing 30.6 minutes per game.
He is undoubtedly one of the driving forces behind the Cavaliers’ amazing performance this season.
If it wasn’t for Allen’s numbers, the Cavaliers wouldn’t be sitting with a 28-16 record as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.
