The Cleveland Cavaliers were off to a terrible start to the 2023-24 NBA season.
The organization struggled to win games earlier in the season, but as the month of November has passed, the Cavs have looked more and more dangerous.
They have now improved their record to 10-8 following their most recent win against the Atlanta Hawks.
Speaking of the Cavaliers, the organization may have found a solid bench player in Isaac Okoro.
So much so that Cleveland Cavaliers head coach J.B. Bickerstaff recently praised the 22-year-old’s defensive ability via Camryn Justice on Twitter.
Asked #Cavs J.B. Bickerstaff about Isaac Okoro's impact:
"He's got the ability to shut guys down and eliminate them from a game. He's like one of those Deion
Sanders cornerbacks, Darrelle Revis type of guys, who you put that guy out there and he's on an island by himself." pic.twitter.com/mKIdhjPYq5— Camryn Justice (@camijustice) November 29, 2023
Not every player on the team needs to score more than 25 points to showcase their impact during a game.
There are a few players who can change the outcome of the game with limited minutes on the court, and Isaac Okoro is undoubtedly one such player for the Cavaliers.
As head coach Bickerstaff mentioned, Okoro’s defensive prowess is unmatched for the organization.
Even against the Atlanta Hawks in the Cavaliers’ most recent matchup, Okoro played just 16 minutes but impacted the game with his 6 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks.
As a result, the Cavs managed to register a 128-105 win over the Hawks.
With the Cavaliers finally finding some rhythm this season, the next target for them should be to reach the top four in the Eastern Conference.
As of now, the Cavaliers are the eighth seed in the conference, but considering they are 7-3 in their last 10 games with a two-game winning streak, fans shouldn’t count the team out of contention.
