The Cleveland Cavaliers keep rolling.
The team overcame a slow start to defeat the New Orleans Pelicans and secure their ninth win of the season.
As Jason Lloyd of The Athletic pointed out on X, this is the first time in franchise history that the team has started a season with a 9-0 record.
In addition, Kenny Atkinson is now the first coach in NBA history to start 9-0 with a new team.
The Cavs set a franchise record with their 9-0 start, the best in team history. Kenny Atkinson becomes the first coach in NBA history to start 9-0 with a new team. The Cavs are officially a problem in the East.

To be fair, the Cavaliers have faced some teams that have yet to figure things out.
Still, you can only beat who is in front of you, and the Cavs have done their job regardless of the context or opponent.
Coach Atkinson was let go by the Brooklyn Nets, reportedly at the request of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
He then passed on several coaching opportunities while he stayed next to Steve Kerr as an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors.
Those years with a winning organization have seemingly helped him, and he learned a lot from that experience.
He has many fresh ideas, and the Cavaliers are playing their best offense in years.
Fans might not believe that none of the LeBron James-led Cavaliers teams ever managed to win their first nine games, but this team has proven to be a cut above those teams, at least as it pertains to their overall record.
And while this team is bound to lose at some point, there are more than enough valid reasons to be excited about this version of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
