The Cleveland Cavaliers have looked like the best team in the league during the 2024-25 NBA season, winning games by sizable margins seemingly every night.
The Cavaliers have won nine games in a row, with their most recent victory coming against the Dallas Mavericks.
Cleveland has been able to run through the league on the back of an offense that is considered the most efficient and well-organized in the NBA.
However, the Cavaliers are also a stout defensive team with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen defending the painted area.
In fact, Cleveland is one of just four teams to rank both in the top 10 of offensive and defensive rating.
“NBA teams that are in the top 10 in BOTH Offensive Rating (OR) and Defensive Rating (DR) using the Basketball Reference version: Cavaliers: 1 OR, 9 DR; Celtics: 2 OR, 8 DR; Grizzlies: 6 OR, 4 DR; Thunder: 7 OR, 1 DR,” Keith Smith of Spotrac wrote on X.

Championship-level teams are usually somewhere in the top 10 for both metrics, so it’s impressive that the Cavaliers are getting it done at a high level on both ends.
Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland are playing some of the best basketball of their careers, while Mobley has made a legitimate leap on both ends of the floor.
Coupled with excellent coaching and depth on its bench, it’s hard to imagine a team other than the Boston Celtics defeating Cleveland in a seven-game series.
There’s a lot of time left before the playoffs, but the Cavaliers are a legitimate threat to win it all.
