The Cleveland Cavaliers have put together a strong and well-balanced team.
However, even good things can be improved, and this team is no exception.
That’s why, with all the speculation about LeBron James potentially changing teams again, it’s only natural to see his former and hometown team listed among potential destinations.
Bovada has the Cavs with the third-best betting odds to acquire the Los Angeles Lakers star (+550), via NBACentral.
The Dallas Mavericks (+125) are the favorites, and another of James’ former teams, the Miami Heat, are the second choice (+500).
The Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks are longer shots to land him.

Of course, that doesn’t mean he’s going to be traded.
James has a no-trade clause, and his agent confirmed that he hasn’t requested a trade or intends to do so.
On the other hand, the Mavericks reportedly would consider adding him in a buyout situation, as they’re not interested in matching his steep salary in any trade scenario.
As for the Heat, it’s hard to envision him returning there, given how things ended between him and Pat Riley.
A return to Cleveland would be a nice full-circle moment to likely end his NBA career.
Unfortunately, that might not be in the franchise’s best interests.
The Cavs would have to give up a lot for a short-term rental on a player who’s about to turn 41 years old, and that might not be wise.
