The Cleveland Cavaliers currently have a 21-11 record and have won their last four straight games.
That’s an imposing record and finds them as the third-best team in the East right now, which is a huge sign that this team really is as good as they said they’d be.
A massive part of their resurgence is because of Donovan Mitchell, who came to the team in the summer and has quickly become an essential aspect of their success.
Mitchell is averaging 29.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists so far this season, shooting 50.6% from the field and 43.1% from the three-point line.
He’s an absolute beast for the Cavs and easily their MVP so far.

He is getting noticed by many fans and the league as well.
Because of all that Mitchell has been doing, especially recently, he was just awarded the Week 9 Player of the Week for the Eastern Conference.
During the last week, Mitchell has averaged 32 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists and the team has scored a 3-1 record.
What is next for Mitchell and his Cavaliers in the weeks and months ahead?
Mitchell Making Moves
This latest award is great for Mitchell and it is a strong reminder of the sort of season he’s having.
But the real goal for Mitchell and his team is to go as far as possible in the postseason.
The team – and its fans – want to see the Cavaliers in the Finals.
It might be too soon for that but anything less than a really good playoff run this year will be seen as a big disappointment.
Mitchell will need to keep playing with the power and skill he’s shown for his team to really reach their ultimate goal in 2022-23.
