There was a moment on Sunday night when it seemed like the Cleveland Cavaliers could be taken down by the 5-16 Detroit Pistons.
This was possible even though the Pistons were missing some of their biggest stars: Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, and Isaiah Stewart.
But the Cavs were able to get it together and overpowered the Pistons to secure a 102-94 victory.
The Cavaliers were able to do so because of a strong showing from a couple of stars, including Evan Mobley.

Mobley scored a double-double on Sunday scoring 20 points – on 8-of-12 from the field – and 13 rebounds.
He also sank both of his three-point attempts too.
Sunday night was yet another example of Mobley being a huge presence on a huge team.
Mobley’s Magic
For the season, Mobley is putting up 14.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.
He is shooting 54.8% from the field even though his three-point percentage is lacking at 26.7%.
But Mobley was never seen as a three-point shooter so even 26% isn’t too bad!
Mobley’s focus has been on using his size to stop shots and create his own – and he is doing that quite well.
The team has gotten off to a great start and they are now the third team in the East with a 13-7 record.
This is mostly in line with what people expected from the team when they traded for Donovan Mitchell in the summer.
Many thought that this could be the Cavs’ year, the season they really broke out and all the pieces came together.
Mobley is, of course, one of the most important pieces of this puzzle and he’s been showing why again and again.
The Cavs have won five of their last six games – can they keep that record strong?
