The Cleveland Cavaliers have had a lot of fun this season.
It hasn’t been all good, but the team has successfully weathered every storm that has come their way so far.
A lot of that has had to do with Kenny Atkinson’s leadership.
He’s been a good tactician and motivator, but more than that, he’s also empowered his players to make sure they can also get themselves out of tough situations.
That’s why Donovan Mitchell tipped his hat to him and his ability to not only lead but also teach (via Cleveland Cavaliers):
“When you have a coach that allows guys to try to figure things out as well as also teaching, I think that’s having a great feel,” Mitchell said.

Hiring Kenny Atkinson has proven to be an absolute blessing for this organization.
He’s brought the best out of the core four.
Darius Garland looks way more aggressive, assertive, and confident in his game.
Jarrett Allen has been more physical down low.
Evan Mobley has taken his game to a whole new level; he’s clearly more confident in his shot.
As for Donovan Mitchell, he continues to be the leader of the team, but he doesn’t have to do all the heavy lifting anymore.
The Cavs have been the best team in the Eastern Conference all season long, and while the Boston Celtics are still the defending champions, they should fear no one come playoff time.
Hopefully, they will be able to keep their foot on the gas and be as dominant in the playoffs as they were during the regular season, as everybody, including Atkinson, still has to prove themselves on that stage.
