The Cleveland Cavaliers need to be as healthy as possible come playoff time.
That’s why they can’t afford to take any risks in the final stretch of the regular season.
With that in mind, they’ve chosen to play it safe with Ty Jerome.
According to a report by Evan Dammarell, the Cavs’ star backup and rookie F Jaylon Tyson won’t be available to face the Los Angeles Clippers.

Notably, Emoni Bates is the only two-way player who’s also unavailable to face the Clippers.
Tyson hasn’t been much of a factor as a rookie, but he’s played some solid minutes when given a longer leash.
He’s missed the past six games with a left knee contusion.
As for Jerome, he will now miss his third game in a row as he continues to nurse some tendinitis in his knee.
Jerome has been an instrumental piece of the Cavs’ success this season.
He’s been one of the most efficient three-level scorers in the league this season, and he’s excelled regardless of whether he’s coming off the bench or filling in for Donovan Mitchell or Darius Garland.
He’s averaged north of 12 points and three assists per game, and even though those numbers might not be that impressive at first glance, he should still be in the mix to win this year’s Sixth Man of the Year.
Jerome has been the team’s glue guy in the second unit, and not having him on the floor in the postseason could prove to be a catastrophe.
