It appears the malaise of the 2024-25 NBA season might finally be catching up to the Cleveland Cavaliers as they’ve lost four straight games for the first time.
The Cavaliers had been rolling through the league before running into this recent speed bump, losing to a couple of teams they had no business losing to.
Cleveland lost to the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Clippers, Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns, who all are simply looking to keep their playoff hopes alive.
The Cavaliers have already qualified for the postseason and should still be the top seed in the Eastern Conference as they have a comfortable lead over the Boston Celtics, but their recent play is concerning, to say the least.
Garrett Bush of the “Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show” pointed out that teams seem to have figured out how to handle Cleveland on both sides of the court.
“People only care about the outcomes of the game. But teams are figuring out very quickly what the Cavs have trouble with. If [the] Cavs aren’t hitting 3s and you are physical with them, you have a good chance to win. But say it on Twitter, you get people melting like butter in the sun!” Bush wrote on X.

As Bush noted, the common theme in the Cavaliers’ recent losses is their inability to hit 3-pointers while allowing opponents to dictate pace and physicality.
Cleveland is a young team that still has some things to sort out, but the Cavs are more than capable of getting to the 2025 NBA Finals despite their flaws.
It’ll be interesting to see if this losing streak is simply a blip or something to be more concerned about.
