Donovan Mitchell is a leader for the Cleveland Cavaliers, but even leaders have to sometimes tease their teammates.
On Thursday evening, Mitchell was giving a post-game interview after the Cavs beat the Brooklyn Nets.
When speaking about the team’s frontcourt duo of Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, Mitchell stopped, turned to Darius Garland, and told him to play a different song.
“You’ve been singing that for like 30 minutes. Pick a different song,” Mitchell said, per HoodiGarland on X.
Garland shot back: “I know you ain’t talking. You got the same playlist every day.”
Garland then continued to sing and Mitchell kept going with his interview.

This was a humorous moment and one that probably warmed the hearts of all Cavaliers fans.
That’s because it shows just how much these two players like one another.
Mitchell wouldn’t be teasing Garland if he didn’t really care for him, and Garland wouldn’t give his own response if the feelings weren’t mutual.
For months now, the Cavaliers have said they have a special chemistry and closeness that cannot be matched anywhere else in the league.
They know they have special skills and are talented players, but what makes the Cavaliers so powerful is that every player on the roster likes one another and they get along so well.
This is a prime example of that.
Spirits were high on Thursday night because the Cavaliers came back from the All-Star break with a definitive win.
They got off to a rocky start, but the Cavaliers figured it out and walked away with an impressive statement victory before a very busy week ahead.
Now it’s time for them to keep it up and keep the good vibes going.
