It’s never easy to win in the NBA.
There’s no such thing as a scheduled win, not even when you’re at home and against a struggling team.
That’s also the case if something disrupts the team’s concentration, focus, or preparation before a game.
That happened on Monday night when the Cleveland Cavaliers and Utah Jazz had to endure a 35-minute delay before the start.
With that in mind, Sam Merrill praised his team for staying focused and locked in despite everything to make sure to beat the Utah Jazz.
Sam Merrill proud of the way the @cavs faced adversity tonight as they battled through a 35-minute delay to the start of the game and the Jazz not giving them an easy win. #LetEmKnow pic.twitter.com/V8a3d6F4Yh

It’s not easy to stay focused at this time of the year.
We’ve seen contending teams drop games they could’ve and should’ve won because the players were already thinking about the Holidays.
Of course, that shouldn’t be the case, but they’re human beings first and foremost, not just professional athletes.
The Cavaliers, however, look like a team on a mission.
They’ve made sure to stay locked in day in and day out regardless of the opposition, holding their own vs. contending teams and not overlooking struggling teams.
They have only lost four games all year, and while it seems unsustainable and unrealistic to believe they’ll win every game, they haven’t slowed down one bit.
There is still a lot of basketball left in the regular season, but judging by their performance this season, there is no reason to believe they can’t keep this up.
