A few days ago, the Cleveland Cavaliers received the devastating news that both Evan Mobley and Darius Garland would be out for the foreseeable future.
Many fans expected them to immediately start losing games left and right but they pulled off an impressive win on Saturday, beating the Atlanta Hawks 127-119.
This was partly because of Donovan Mitchell, who helped the team with 22 points and 13 assists.
According to Mack Perry, the Cavaliers are now 8-5 when Mitchell creates seven or more assists.
Additionally, they are undefeated (3-0) when he has double-digit assists, like he did on Saturday night.

Mitchell is recording 27.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game this season.
That is the highest assist average of his career and it shows that he is trying to get his teammates involved in every single play.
The Cavaliers will be turning to Mitchell a lot more in the weeks ahead now that both Garland and Mobley are gone.
He will have to step up and embrace his leadership role even more.
Even before they lost Mobley and Garland, Cleveland had a tough road ahead.
The team is currently the eighth-best team in the East with a 14-12 record and will have some challenging games soon.
Next up for the Cavaliers are the Houston Rockets on Monday, followed by the Utah Jazz, New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls, and Dallas Mavericks.
They now need to adjust to life without Mobley and Garland.
Mitchell will be doing his part and hopefully he will score a lot of assists in the near future because the evidence shows that when he assists, the team wins.
