The Cleveland Cavaliers found something special in 2024-25, but they clearly need to get better.
The team isn’t where it wants to be yet, but most people believe they can get there with the roster they have now.
But that requires that everyone in the lineup focuses on their game and gets better.
Donovan Mitchell will push himself, but he will push his teammates too.
In a new interview, he said that head coach Kenny Atkinson has told him to help Evan Mobley achieve more.
Part of that is making sure Mobley is more demanding.
“Kenny [Atkinson] came up to me and was like, ‘Hey, try to push Evan Mobley, and even more so next year. Push Ev.’ Ev has the potential, and he’s continuing to take that rise. I need 20 shots, but he has to go and say that. We need more. Demand it. If I don’t pass you the ball, get on my ass. If DG don’t give you the ball, get on his ass, and be okay with that. He’s ready for it. I have no doubt,” Mitchell said, via HoodiGarland.

Mobley just had his best season yet and really impressed most Cavaliers.
After years of people demanding more from him, he was finally at the level that followers knew was inside of him all along.
He averaged 18.5 points and 9.3 rebounds, good enough to be an All-Star and be titled Defensive Player of the Year.
Now Mobley has to keep himself at that level, if not higher.
And he has to assert his dominance among his teammates, demanding that they keep him included in every play.
The better Mobley does, the better the team is.
They know that he will be a central part of their success and they are eager to see him keep evolving and keep expecting the most from himself.
