The Cleveland Cavaliers fans weren’t the only ones heartbroken by the team’s loss to the Indiana Pacers in the playoffs.
Donovan Mitchell was also deeply stung by their defeat at the hands of the Pacers, and he spoke about it recently.
“This loss definitely messed me up a little bit, more so than most years. That’s what it’s going to take for it not to happen again. I made the joke after the end of the year; this could happen eight more times, I’m not going to stop. I was in Cleveland for about a week after. Usually, after the season, I fly out to go back home. I couldn’t leave. I’m at that point now where I’ve accepted it, and now I’m using it to work. It happens. You gotta find a way to move on and get ready for next year,” Mitchell said, via HoodiGarland on X.

One can tell that Mitchell really was hurt by how his team came up short.
He thought they had the skill and the ability to go all the way this year, and he wasn’t alone.
But the Cavaliers came up short, and now people will be very nervous about next season.
Even if the team does really well in the regular season, there will be concerns that they are going to mess up when the playoffs begin.
Mitchell knows people will be worried, and he knows the expectations will somehow be even higher.
He will do everything in his power to ensure the fans have something to be happy about.
