Though the 2025 NBA Finals are ongoing, there has already been a big trade.
The Orlando Magic gave up a lot to get Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies, sending away Cole Anthony, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, four first-round picks a pick swap.
With that in mind, Cavs analyst Evan Dammarell argued that the Grizzlies have now set the asking price for any potential trade involving Darius Garland.
Also, if you’re the #Cavs, the Grizzlies just set the asking price for any possible offer for Darius Garland.

Then again, the rest of the NBA might not feel this way.
While most people online agree that the Magic overpaid to get Bane, and while he’s not a two-time All-Star like Garland, he may be a better player.
They’re each an efficient three-level scorer, but Bane is a much better defender than Garland, not to mention more durable and more proven in big moments.
The Cavs don’t seem to be interested in trading Garland, and after sustaining another injury, it’s hard to believe that multiple teams will be lining up to try to get him.
But if Cleveland can get something close to four first-round picks and two legitimate rotation pieces for Garland, it would be a disservice not to make a trade.
The Cavs don’t necessarily have to move on from him, and by no means should they give him up for a subpar return.
Then again, if the right opportunity comes knocking, they may have to reconsider their stance.
