After their terrific start to the season, everyone is wondering what’s ahead for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Will they be able to beat the rest of the East and storm to the NBA Finals for the first time in years?
And will any of their stars be named MVP at the season’s end?
It’s too soon to tell, of course, but on Friday night Donovan Mitchell was met with chants of “MVP” as the Cavaliers beat the Chicago Bulls 144-126.
Mitchell has indeed been having an outstanding season, so is an MVP trophy in his future?

During Friday’s game, Mitchell scored 37 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
It was just the latest lights-out performance from the 28-year-old guard.
So far this season, he is averaging 24.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists on 46.9 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from the three-point line.
This is his third season with the Cavaliers and it’s clear that everything is finally working out well for the team.
The last couple of seasons have been filled with high expectations and a lot of potential but they always ended with disappointment as the Cavaliers weren’t able to make it far in the playoffs.
Unless something radical changes in the months ahead, it seems that won’t be the case this year.
These are actually not the highest numbers of Mitchell’s time with the Cavaliers but the team is doing better than ever and he has remained consistent and healthy throughout the start of the season.
Like everyone else on the roster, he is playing with passion and high energy and seems to be more tuned in and committed.
That is why he will continue to hear MVP chants if the team keeps winning.
