The Cleveland Cavaliers have been the true definition of a team this season.
They haven’t needed anyone to do all the heavy lifting, and multiple players, even from the second unit, have stepped up on any given night.
However, things are very different in the playoffs.
That’s why Nick Wilson and Jonathan Peterlin are so worried about Donovan Mitchell.
Talking on 92.3 The Fan, they expressed concerns about Mitchell’s health, as having him on the court and close to full strength will be crucial for this team in the postseason:
“Donovan’s health is first and foremost…I think even with Donovan, if he just seems like he’s injured, I still think you make it through the first round. It’s where the second round becomes dicey,” said Wilson.

Evan Mobley might be the team’s most talented player, but Mitchell is still the best scorer and undisputed leader.
We’ve already seen him take over and have some big performances in the playoffs.
Unfortunately, however, he hasn’t been healthy in the postseason over the past couple of years, and it seems like that’s the case again this season.
He’s struggled with inconsistency over the past couple of weeks, and that’s not what you want to see with the playoffs just around the corner.
Hopefully, he will be able to push through this and be at his best when it matters most.
And even if that’s not the case, other players like Darius Garland, Ty Jerome, or maybe even De’Andre Hunter will be willing and able to take a leap forward and pick up some of the slack.
They’ve done so all year long, and they can’t afford to abandon what has worked so well now that the playoffs are here.
