The Cleveland Cavaliers have put up one of the most dominant regular seasons in franchise history and are almost certain to enter the 2025 NBA Playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Cavaliers have been one of the most fun teams to watch as they score almost at will and have the ability to shut down opponents thanks to their frontcourt tandem of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen.
Cleveland shouldn’t have a hard time advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals, but there is some skepticism that it will be able to win the title.
Some people will cite the Boston Celtics as their biggest obstacle, though others are unsure that the Cavs have the experience necessary to get over the hump in the playoffs.
There’s no denying that the Cavaliers are talented, but analyst Damon Jones believes they need to prove their worth in the playoffs in order to change the narrative about their chances to win the championship.
“That’s where narratives begin and that’s where they end. It’s come playoff basketball. With 82 games and back-to-backs and four games in five nights, you go out there and you can play consistent over that time period. … Until you’re able to put it together and make a deep playoff run, then those narratives will start to switch,” Jones said, via 92.3 The Fan.

Jones explained that teams like Cleveland can dominate the regular season due to talent, but the postseason is a different beast entirely.
The Cavaliers haven’t had much playoff success since LeBron James left the franchise, but this is certainly the time for them to prove any doubters wrong.
