The Cleveland Cavaliers needed to make a big statement on Wednesday night, and they did exactly that.
They hadn’t been playing up to their usual standards lately, and with the New York Knicks on deck, they had to send a message.
Four of their stars took a big step forward to take care of business.
Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, Darius Garland, and De’Andre Hunter combined for a whopping 81 points, 20 rebounds, 11 assists, four blocks, and four steals on the win.
They also combined to shoot 61.8% from the floor, 37.5% from beyond the arc, and 87.5% from the charity stripe.

Evan Mobley had a rather modest game vs. Tom Thibodeau’s team.
He finished the night with 13 points on 11 shots to go along with one three-pointer, four boards, four dimes, one steal, and one block.
Even so, the Cavs managed to close out the game on a high note and take care of business against a potential postseason foe.
This speaks volumes about this team’s depth and string of unsung heroes.
Even when one of their best players has a rare off night, everybody else can chime in and get the job done.
The whole will always be greater than the sum of the parts, and Kenny Atkinson’s team has lived by that approach all season long.
With just a handful of games left in the regular season, the Cavs will most likely focus on getting back to full strength and tweaking a couple of things up ahead of the playoffs.
