Fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t seen as much as they’d like of Max Strus this year due to an injury, but he is still a beloved part of the team.
He is so beloved, in fact, that the Cavaliers gave him a special shout out on X Friday morning to celebrate his 29th birthday.
It’s been a complicated season for Strus, but he has been showing some signs of real progress and could be a key part of their playoff run.

Strus has appeared in 44 games this season, starting in 31 of them.
Last year, he started in all 70 of the games he appeared in.
He got a late start to 2024-25 because he was still rehabbing from an injury and since his return, he has averaged 9.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.
Those numbers are all a dip down compared to last year but Strus is still considered a reliable and treasured fan favorite.
Plus, his field goal and three-point percentages have all ticked up, so Strus is definitely contributing to the team.
Some fans would like to see him in the starting lineup more often, while others like that he can come off the bench and provide a boost when starters are resting.
The team is consistently praised for its second unit, and Strus is a huge reason why.
Strus started his career with the Chicago Bulls before quickly finding more success with the Miami Heat.
He fit in perfectly with the Cavaliers right away, and many people picture him sticking with the team for a long time.
At just 29 years old, Strus could have many seasons left in the NBA – will he spend them all with the Cavs?
